Retraction
Hello beloved readers,
I have to make a retraction from my blog on Friday concerning my examples of the number eight in scripture. Adam was not formed from the dust of the earth on the eighth day. It happened on the sixth day as we read in Gen. 1:26-31 but it is described in detail in Gen. 2:7. It is widely believed that Gen. 2 is a detailed summary of creation and I hold to that teaching. I got caught up in ‘new beginnings’ and incorrectly wrote that Adam or mankind was formed on the eighth day. I apologize for that. He truly had a new beginning with Eve on the eighth day and that was my point. My apologies for the confusion.
I want you to know I take great care in what I write and hold myself, as God does, accountable for it. God has gifted some of you to question what you read and have the courage to question me. Thank you for that. You may not agree with every perspective I have but I need to have the scriptures correct.
Thanks for reading, my prayer for you is that God will stir you up to be like the Jewish Bereans:
Now these Jews were more noble than those in Thessalonica; they received the word with all eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so. (Acts 17:11 ESV)
